Light Scrubbers are photo-based devices that emit a highly concentrated burst of Ultraviolet light within a small, confined space. Originally designed to kill surface bacteria, they have become widely used within criminal organizations to remove any surface DNA that might be picked up by a DNA Sniffer.
Light Scrubbers also have the interesting side-effect of harming any vampire who happens to be caught in their twenty-foot photo-blast radius.
As light scrubbers weren't always effective at destroying or degrading DNA - they were soon replaced
